Goals:

• Identifying all diesel engines in railway machines
• Identify the factors that are causing the most damage in diesel engines
• Provide solutions to reduce downtime in diesel engines

Importance of the issue:

• Considering the importance of the correct operation of diesel engines in railway and important role of this engines in 3 parts railway machinery, railway cranes and generator, this project has been define to record each engine behavior and analyze the cause of each engine failure. This company worked on this project as consultant of Iran railway.

Results:

• Identifying all diesel engines in Iran railway
• Identification of all diesel engines in Iran railway
• Develop repair and maintenance Software for diesel engines
• Prepare a list of manufacturers of diesel engines parts inside country and abroad
• Obtain a function of engine failure behavior and calculate the probability of failure for each diesel engine
• Obtain the best time to repair before failure
